Kawamoto’s International Craniomaxillofacial Course
PART I
Kawamoto’s Craniomaxillofacial
Symposium
10th-12th
April, 2017
Description:
Three days symposium that discuss state-of-the-art craniofacial and
orthognathic surgery to have a step
forward broadening your knowledge
and mastering the techniques in the
up to date management of different
craniofacial deformities. The
symposium is composed of interactive
lectures about the various aspects
of craniomaxillofacial surgery
including management of pediatric
patients with congenital
craniofacial deformities,
post-traumatic deformities as well
as Orthognathic surgery. Lectures
will provide a basic understanding
of the embryology, growth,
development and biology of the
craniofacial region. Participants
will also get updates of the basic
and advanced craniomaxillofacial
imaging modalities, computer guided
planning and surgical techniques
required for a comprehensive
evaluation and treatment of the
different craniofacial
abnormalities.
Symposium Objectives:
-
To review the relevant clinical embryology,
growth and biology to the
treatment of craniomaxillofacial
deformities.
-
To review the basic and up-to-date diagnostic
and operative planning
modalities for craniofacial and
orthognathic disorders.
-
To provide an update of different surgical
techniques in craniofacial and
orthognathic surgery.
-
To emphasize the necessity and efficacy of
multidisciplinary approach in
the evaluation and treatment of
patients with craniofacial and
orthognathic disorders.

Workshop Description
An interactive, Clinical Workshop with
live surgeries, case discussions,
interactive mini lectures and panel
discussions
that address the basic
concepts in craniofacial and
orthognathic surgery,
focus on the contemporary management
of different craniomaxillofacial
disorders and emphasizes audience
participation in diagnosis and
clinical decision making. Case-based
discussions will promote
interactivity between faculty and
course participants. Live surgeries
demonstrate operative steps for some
of the basic craniomaxillofacial
procedures and share the unique
experience of the workshop faculty.
Everyone is welcomed to bring his
cases and questions. Carry the
momentum forward to your
craniomaxillofacial practice to
deliver the safest and most
effective outcomes.
Workshop Objectives:
5.
To describe the
different incisions and approaches
for different areas of the face and
cranium.
6.
To provide an update of
surgical techniques in craniofacial
and orthognathic surgery.
7.
To comprehend pre-operative planning, and surgical outcome
analysis
8.
To review the basic contemporary techniques in orthodontics for
orthognathic cases.
9.
Recognize the factors involved in making a treatment plan for
craniofacial orthognathic patients
to achieve a predictable outcome
including a thorough evaluation,
